Grey sheepskins

We sell both naturally grey sheepskin rugs and dyed rugs. The reason for that is that we are looking to offer you a choice between completely uniform looking items and natural pieces that are completely unique. With our years-long expertise and interest in sheepskins we can assure you that all our rugs and hides are quality products that have been carefully selected.

Sheepskin rug grey

An important question to ask oneself when buying a sheepskin rug is: What am I going to use the sheepskin for? In the next few paragraphs we will guide you through the selection process and hopefully leave you with enough information to select the perfect sheepskin rug that fulfills all your wishes. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us!

Dyed grey sheepskin rugs

Most of our dyed grey sheepskin rugs are from New Zealand. These rugs have a thick coat and a wonderful shine. Since the sheepskin rugs are coloured, they should not be exposed to direct sunlight, as they can lose their colour and fade slightly. Sheepskin rugs in their natural colour, however, are suited for both inside and outside.

You can find both a short-wool and a long-wool variant of the grey sheepskin rugs from New Zealand. The long-wool sheepskins have an especially soft, thick and shiny coat that feels incredible to sit or to lie on. We have these rugs in two different shades of grey: light grey and dark grey. You can find the dark grey sheepskins in the sizes 80 x 60 cm, 90 x 60 cm and 100 x 60 cm. The light grey variants can be found in the sizes 90 x 60 cm, 100 x 60 cm, and 115 x 60 cm.

The short-wool version of the sheepskin rug from New Zealand measures 90 x 60 cm and can be found in two shades of grey: light grey and a darker grey, also known as graphite.

Besides the sheepskin rugs from New Zealand, all our Tibetan sheepskin rugs are coloured as well. Tibetan sheepskin is known to have long, curly wool and an extremely soft coat. The grey Tibetan sheepskin rugs are approximately 85 x 50 cm big and are available in two colours: grey and light grey.

If you're looking for a slightly larger Tibetan sheepskin, then maybe the 1.5-size sheepskin is exactly what you're looking for. This sheepskin rug is made by joining a sheepskin with another half one and measures about 130 x 50 cm. Being a bit larger, these rugs work great as a bedside rug or on the living room floor.

Finally, sheepskin rugs from Iceland, that usually come in completely natural variants that aren't dyed, can be found in one variant that is dyed, called brisa. This shade of grey is slightly different to the natural, non-dyed, grey variant. There is both a long-wool and a short-wool variant of the brisa-coloured Icelandic sheepskin rug.

The long-wool version has got a coat with between 15 and 25 cm long fur that feels slightly abrasive. This texture is due to the century-long adaptation of the sheep to the raw Icelandic climate. The brisa-coloured sheepskin rugs with long wool can be found in the sizes 90-100 x 60 cm, 100-110 x 60 cm, and 110-120 x 60 cm.

The short-wool version can be found in the sizes 90-100 x 60 cm, 100-110 x 60 cm, and 110-120 x 60 cm.

Natural grey sheepskin rugs

Our sheepskins with naturally grey wool come from Iceland. The sheep there are born in the wild and grow up in freedom to explore the great Icelandic landscape. That's what makes their wool so special. As previously mentioned, the wool is slightly abrasive, which makes it absolutely incredible to touch.

The natural grey Icelandic sheepskin rugs can be found both as a long-wool and a short-wool variant. The long-wool version is available in the sizes 90-100 x 60 cm, 100-110 x 60 cm, 110-120 x 60 cm, and 120+ x 60 cm. Similarly, the short-wool variant can be found in the sizes 90-100 x 60 cm, 100-110 x 60 cm and 110-120 x 60 cm.

Gotland sheepskin

The possibly best sheepskins in the world can be found on the Swedish island of Gotland. Especially in Scandinavia those sheep are known to produce an incredibly soft and beautiful coat. A coat with such a unique quality and wonderful curls can only be found in sheep from Gotland. The grey sheepskin from Gotland is of course all natural and measures approximately 70 x 100 cm. Besides being especially soft and beautiful, these sheepskins are also very durable and last at the right care for many, many years.
